Fall Pics

I was SO excited to be able to have our family pictures taken again by the Very Talented Christy Martin. She is one of my most favorite people and she can catch super sweet moments. We got SO many good pics so I had a hard time deciding my fabs, but here are just a few of them.

Micah

Here are just a few of the most recent interesting things that Micah has come up with.......

Micah: I want to try to win tickets to the BBQ thing!
Me: I won't be able to go, I have to work this weekend.
Micah: Thats ok, Daddy will take me. And You don't even like BBQ.
Me: I do! I like Dickey's, Sonny's.....
Micah: No I'm talking about real BBQ like the kind from South America or Kentucky.

On Making sense......

Do popcorn air poppers still make sense?
Would it make any sense to call 5555555555?
A blue spider does make sense, but it's very rare.
An acorn woodpecker does make sense.
You know a flying snake does make sense.
Does The Taco Stand still make sense?
Daddy, do flying roaches make sense?
It's so cold it says 32 degrees. Does 5 degrees make sense?
I know triple knots don't make sense, but I made one anyway.

Look out now!!!

Micah: I wish I were a black person!
Me: why Micah?
Micah: So that I could be like that guy on reading rainbow!

Micah "I think I'll be in a museum when I grow up. You know they'll probably make a statue of me. "
Me "oh yeah?"
Micah "Yeah you know I'm an inventor. I come up with new things all of the time!"

Hearing "away in a manger" Micah said "See this is the real meaning of Christmas! This is a non fiction song. Most songs are fiction. But this one is the real story!"

Micah has recently decided that maybe he won't be a restaurant owner after all. He's thinking something in the public service field. Maybe a policeman, SWAT guy, or a fireman, but after getting an oil change last week he changed his mind AGAIN. After we left the oil change place I realized that the guy forgot to reset the computer in my truck. I knew it was an easy fix, so I called and asked him to walk me through it. After I got off off of the phone Micah said with excitement "I'll probably just be an oil change guy. Pressing the gas is much easier than shooting out fires and getting sprayed with pepper spray!!"

Man this guy keeps us on our toes. At least he can make us laugh every once in a while! :)

One busy weekend

December is always a super busy month, but this year the first weekend was the busiest. We received an invite ( it was a pity invite, but at least it was in invite) to the McBryar Soiree. We went. They went all out from beautiful decorations, to yummy food, and sweet company. We had a great time.

Micah got invited to his a birthday party for a friend in his class. I met the mom who seemed to be super nice, she mentioned that it wouldn't be a really large party and that it was going to be a bowling party. When Micah got to choose what he did on his "Aunt Laura Date" during the summer, he chose to go bowling and LOVED it. He was actually even good. We got to go to the birthday party and even though we couldn't stay for the entire time Micah was able to bowl one game. He was SO excited and even came in second place (he was beat by the dad by 4 points)

 What a sweet brother!

The main reason that we couldn't stay for all of Brayden's party was that I was throwing a party of my own. I loved having my favorite people over last year for my "Favorite Things" Party, and decided to have a 2nd annual. I invited most of the same people from last year but added a few new favorite people. Only one of my favorites had to decline, not bad. Since our house is not made for entertaining I have to keep things small. We had several of my favorite snacky foods and lots and lots of fun gifts. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family members.
Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver, the other's gold.

Thanksgiving times 3

Our very first Thanksgiving celebration of the year was at Micah's school. His class normally eats at 12:21. Patton and I showed up just a few minutes early and could hardly even find a parking place. We finally made it into the school to find out that the lunchroom was running really behind.... I guess there were more people there than they had planned for? We stood in line in the atrium and waited, waited,  and waited.  We finally made it into the lunchroom and were able to get some food at 1:45. Micah got his tray and the very first thing that he said was "I thought this was a turkey lunch. Where is the turkey!?" I don't eat school lunches, but it was very interesting to see, I wish I had taken a picture of the food. The turkey, come to find out was actually cooked into the dressing. Very interesting, but Micah ate it anyway. Patton and I were kept entertained by Micah and Josue.
My gift to the teachers this year :)

Patton's Thanksgiving at his school was more up my alley. The kids all wore their darling hand print Turkey shirts and they had a TON of food that wouldn't scare you. I even had some of the mashed potatoes.....  Some of the best I've ever had (maybe because I haven't eaten mashed potatoes in like 6 months, or maybe it was because Ms. Kathy cooks a lot like Paula Dean.... Lots of Butter) Either way, the feast was sweet and fun and there were No long lines at all ;)

Thanksgiving day we headed to the country. It was a cold cold day and I do not like the cold. We had a fun time, visited, ate, and laughed (especially about Laura's butternut squash casserole) We didn't even have a family picture taken. This was as close as it got, complete with turkey mouth and all!
 And the bearded Daddy :)

Taekwondo Tournament

Our Taekwondo Studio offered the second tournament since Micah has been taking classes, since Party Jumps had the morning off I signed Micah up. I KNEW he would Love it. Every participant could choose their 3 favorite moves and could choose and way to break two boards.
Here is Micah getting ready to do his moves.
He was a sparring machine :)
I was SO proud of Micah when he decided to take a chance at trying to break his board with his head. This is a move that we haven't even come close to learning. Most kids used side kicks or hammer fists. Everyone "Oooohed and Ahhhed" after Micah's incredible head break. (The boy has his Daddy's head) I loved that move!
Everyone who participated received a medal, here is Micah getting his first. After that, only 3 other medals were given. They were judged according to how well they did their moves and 1. If they broke their boards on the first try. 2. Creativity. And 3. Difficulty
Micah got the BRONZE! I was So sad. I knew that even though it may have been hard to beat the kid who won the gold medal (he punched through both pieces of wood and broke them both at once) But the silver?! All he did was kick through one, and hammer fist the other :( Micah was proud that he won the medal, but even he knew that he should have won the Silver. We tried not to let him see how disappointed we were and celebrated his Bronze. Here is the proud medal winner.

Halloween

Since Micah was 1 we had always gone to Hebron's Fall Festival for Halloween, but this year instead of them having it on Halloween night, they had it the Saturday before. We had Party Jumps jobs, so we missed it :( We went back and forth on what to do for Halloween night. We don't have a whole lot of homes in our neighborhood, and have Never tick or treated in here. We finally decided that we would visit our family, go to BFUMC's Trunk or Treat, and end our night with Ms. Greene. At our first stop we were SO surprised to find This!!!
The Rosburys even trick or treated for the first time EVER!
Our second stop was Nut's and we saw the cutest elephant Ever!! Sweet Riley boy!
And our last stop of the night Ms. Greene's! LOVE her!
