2nd Annual Pi Day Celebration

We had another Pi Day Celebration this year since last year's was So.much.fun! We ended up with 15 pies I think, several pizza, chicken pot pie, you name it…..We planned to play the same games this year with points added at the end to determine the winners of the 3 age groups. Laura who hosts, organizes, and rates the points was not feeling well at all. Being so new in the pregnancy was rough on her. Although we got a later start than we had planned everyone had a great time and left with full tummies and happy hearts.
I made t-shirts for the winners

 Pies Pies and more PIES!
The Pi prizes, everything was circle shaped
Who can draw the best circle free hand

Jerms' Favorite "Spin Spin Spin Spin. Where will you place the cherry on the pie?"

 Cake walk

 Pie feeding
 Pie eating
 Adult winner!
 Child winner!
Patton cried and cried…. He thought he was going to win!
Middle and young winners checking out their shirts :)

Spirit Week

Although I was super nervous at the change in administration at Micah's school, we couldn't have been more pleased! LOVE the AP and the new principal is FUN! There were several things throughout the year that were done differently this year than last. For example Spirit Week. I'm guessing that this wasn't done last year due to the fact that they were trying so hard to keep people in uniforms. Since there were no uniforms this year, the fun returned. Although Micah participated in every single thing every single day, that was not true of the majority of his class…. That was sad to me, only 3-4 kids participated…. to each their own. At least Micah (and I had fun)
Micah has NEVER left the house with his hair unfixed, SO on Wacky Wednesday we went ALL out! ;) We have to go see Ms. Greene :)

Cat in the Hat day had a few participants :)

And Book character day. I made Micah's Thing shirt, not bad eh?
Things P and E. PE teacher and Parapro. Just a few of our favs.

Paw-Paw

My last living grandparent my sweet, funny, non sense speaking, knows everything about politics, memory of an elephant Paw-Paw passed away in February. It was and still is sad but if anything happy came out of it, I was able to get a picture with the majority of my cousins…. Some were late.
Some people didn't want a picture taken, very understandable…. but I really think there could be a high demand for "Funeral Photographers." It would be a super sad job, just like working at a funeral home, or being a mortician….. Bt think of the people that you go years and years without seeing, and you bump into them at the funeral home, or at the funeral. I am glad I thought to bring my camera "just in case."

Gym FUN!

I knew as soon as Patton began CW last fall that I would be able to go to the gym more often. I. unlike a lot of people enjoy working out. So I joined Anytime Fitness. I think it's one of the cleaner of the gyms that I've been to. I went every Mon-Wed as soon as I dropped Patton off. Then I discovered that a church 5 minutes from my house has a fitness center complete with childcare and unlimited classes for $15 a month. Although I kept my membership at Anytime, as soon as I discovered the "Church gym" I was in love! I have been there since September and have made so many new friends that will be forever friends. I have invited everyone that I talk to on a regular basis and some that I don't even know.
There is a funny story that my friend Suzanne tells. I had never met her before but had heard wonderful things about her. She married my old friend Mitchell. She says "I met Miriam at the fair and the first thing she said was "Do you go to a gym?" First of all I think it's hilarious that that's EXACTLY how it happened. We were walking into the fair and I saw Mitchell. I had to go hug him and when I did I introduced myself to his wife, realized that she a then little baby and thought that maybe she'd like to come to the church gym with me….. since they offer childcare and all :) She joined, likes it… Spin is her favorite.
I take almost every morning class that they offer with the exception of "stretch it out" and yoga. I take kickboxing, insane cardio, insane strength, spin, and have even discovered that I have a LOVE of Zumba.
I LOVE a good competition so, the weighted wall squat was right up my ally. We finally called it a tie with 60 seconds holding 345 lbs.

And the weighted plank…. Not my best, I'm not a good planker, but I did it.
Sometimes I can make Saturday mornings and sometimes I can't, but this Saturday in particular, I will never forget…. Only beside my first class with Ashley that I felt like I was going to throw up ALL.DAY.LONG. This one was fun but SO HARD. At the beginning of the class we chose a partner. Peter and I take weekday mornings together most days, so we were partners. We took turns with the exercises and running. For example I would start out running the length of the gym back and forth while Peter did 10 push ups. Then he ran while I did 10 push ups. Then I tagged him, his turn again. He did 10 pushups and then 10 right leg step ups while I ran….. So on and so forth, we were doing something All Of The Time. No breaks at all! By the end of the hour Peter and I had 302 times that we ran from one end of the gym to the other! We didn't win, I think we got second place, but we were SO tired!! It was a Great workout, hence the pics ;)

Red Belt!

Micah is still enjoying Taekwondo, so he's still enrolled. He's been taking for a year and a half and tested in March for his Red belt. He did a great job and I was impressed as always :)

Valentine's Day Party

Have I mentioned how excited I was to be co room mom with my 2 best friends from forever ago?! Heather, Sarah, and I had a Great time planning fun parties this year for Ms. Scott's 3 year old class. The Valentine party came complete with several games, a sweet sweet craft, Chick-fil-A AND cotton candy! Everyone had a blast despite the fact that the smoke alarm kept going off….

Poor Poor Patton watched Micah go down a slide head first and thought he should try it :(

February Birthday celebrations

During February we celebrated Mama and Aiden's birthdays. We celebrated at Nut's and had an Chinese themed meal. We ate, chatted, and the birthday girls opened their gifts. I made Aiden several shirts that I have heard that she loves.

Mama found "How much do you love me in her present stack" No one knew what it was doing there and WHY it was there. Gavin and Patton sat in her lap and she read it to them
When she was finished Laura announced that the book was from her and Jerms and that they are having a BABY!!! They videoed the whole thing. I screamed and screamed and screamed and was SO excited, can you tell?!

Sarah's birthday is also in February, so after throwing a sweet Valentine's Day party at Child's World, we went to Mexican to celebrate Sarah.
